When 28mm, one of my favourite photography websites, announced last October that they were shutting down I was really disappointed. I enjoyed each monthly issue from "cover to cover", and appreciated the diversity of the photographers and their individual styles.

To my delight, the editor also announced that one final edition, a printed coffee table book titled "28mm: offline" would be created in memory of the website, and that an open call for submissions had been placed. I'd been thinking about submitting something to the website for a while so it seemed like a good idea, albeit a long shot, to submit for the book. So I scraped together four images that I felt were some of my best and submitted them, thinking that would be the last I heard of it. Two months later I received an email from the editor informing me that my submission had been selected!

Along with 49 other photographers, I will have four photos appearing in the 200 page book, and a short bio at the end.

It's been a couple of months since then and the book is now nearing completion. I've seen some preview images and it looks fantastic! It should be ready within a few weeks and, since it will have an ISBN number, should be available for order in bookstores or online in the near future.

And if you haven't looked already, I encourage you to check out the amazing photography included in the fourteen issues of the online 'zine.

I'll post more details about the book as they become available, but for now just wanted to share my good news!
